About
Tabatha Claudia Flores, a native Peruvian and marketing/communications executive, has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. After several years in the corporate workforce, Tabatha decided to pursue her passion for yoga by teaching others using elements of her own practical and personal experiences on the mat. Pure Vida Yoga is a direct manifestation of Tabatha’s desire to make yoga accessible to others through customized yoga that speaks to the needs of individuals and to groups with shared cultures alike. Tabatha refers to her teaching style as “a meditative self-inquiry dance,” which draws from the traditions of Ashtanga, Tantra, Buddhism and Kripalu yoga as well as from modern and Latin dance. Pratapana or the building of inner heat, the synchronization of breath and movement, and the finding of one’s edge while learning self- compassion are tools that Tabatha believes lead to meditation in motion. Through meditation in motion one is able to focus inward, become a non-judging witness to the self, and open one’s heart to giving and receiving Prana or the life force that leads to a feeling of lightness, stillness and joy. Tabatha is a Registered Yoga Teacher and she holds RYT 200 hr certifications in both Ashtanga Yoga and Kripalu Yoga and certifications in Trauma Sensitive Yoga and Prenatal Yoga for Conscious Birthing. She is a member of the Yoga Alliance and of the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association (KYTA). Tabatha also holds degrees from Harvard University and from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London/ the Manchester University in England.
